THRIVE CONNECTION / A SEASON OF CONNECTION

Giving season can begin with a simple question: what can I offer, and where could it be useful? There is more than one answer. A financial contribution, a professional skill, a thoughtful introduction, or a response to an approved needs list can each become a way to take part in New Narrative’s community.

A few questions can help you choose

Start with what is realistic for you. Would you prefer to make a gift, offer a skill, or connect a group of people with a practical project? How much time or money are you comfortable committing? Does your idea need a particular date, or could it respond to needs as they arise?

There is no need to pursue every route. Choosing one clear next step can be more useful than beginning a collection or campaign before its purpose and arrangements are agreed.

Make the handoff part of the plan

Practical giving works best when the contribution and the receiving program are prepared for each other. Before organizing anything, ask who can confirm the need, what information should be shared with participants, and how the contribution will be received.

For a workplace or community group, it can help to choose one person to coordinate questions and pass along the team’s confirmed instructions. This is a planning suggestion, rather than a requirement to create a committee or launch a large project. Small, well-coordinated efforts can be easier for everyone to manage.

Whatever route you consider, leave room for the answer to change. Needs, capacity, and timing can shift. A conversation helps connect generosity with a useful next step.

Choose a giving route that fits

During the year-end campaign, New Narrative’s Give!Guide profile is one place to begin. You can also explore direct giving through our website. Our donation page offers both one-time and monthly giving.

Respond to practical seasonal needs

The same approach applies to other practical contributions: a current request and a clear handoff help make an offer useful. Contacting the team first allows us to discuss what is needed and how to coordinate it.

Your old vehicle can help someone move forward. Donate your car to support mental health, housing, and hope in our community.

Bring a vehicle, a skill, or a partnership idea

If you have a vehicle you are considering donating, visit our vehicle-giving page for the current process and questions. Businesses and community groups can also begin conversations about sponsorship, professional expertise, workplace engagement, or other partnership ideas.

Contact New Narrative’s Development Team to ask about current needs or share an idea. We can explore whether an offer fits before anyone makes arrangements.

Thank you for considering how your resources, relationships, and interests could connect with this work. Every giving decision should fit your own circumstances, too.
