Julie IbrahimNew Narrative is proud to share that CEO Julie Ibrahim was named as a vice-chair of Governor Tina Kotek’s newly formed Behavioral Health Talent Council, chaired by First Lady Aimee Kotek Wilson. The 22-member council will tackle Oregon’s ongoing behavioral health workforce crisis, developing an action plan based on the Behavioral Health Talent Assessment completed recently by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

Council members experienced in healthcare, education, and licensing will build solutions around four key goals: alleviating the current workforce shortage, curbing high turnover rates, enhancing cultural competency and workforce diversity, and improving recruitment and retention, particularly for providers serving Oregon Health Plan members.

“I’m honored to serve on Governor Kotek’s Behavioral Health Talent Council, and I’m excited to help solve the behavioral health workforce crisis that is limiting behavioral healthcare access for our most vulnerable Oregonians,” said Ibrahim.
