Bridging Connections is a New Narrative motel shelter program which provides low-barrier motel shelter to participants transitioning from houselessness. This program is  supported by Metro’s Supportive Housing Services Measure, and overseen by the Multnomah County Health Department.

Our Bridging Connections motel shelter program has been filling the gaps of housing for people getting off the streets since 2021. The search for housing is complicated for people living with mental health challenges; having a housing specialist like Wendie Smith on the team can make all the difference.

“That visibility of being there and being available when they need support has been just instrumental and monumental in trust-building and getting people housed,” Smith said. “I get the opportunity to build rapport with them.” Read more about how New Narrative is meeting people where they are to get them the housing they need in this latest news post from Multnomah County.
